Destiny 2 News – Bungie Addresses Sexual Harassment and More
4 min readControversy, Drama and Change
After some major controversy happened last week in the Destiny 2 Community, Bungie addresses the topic. For those who are unaware; last weekend, several streamers got called out for harassment behavior.
Say No To Rage was accused of sexual harassment by several women. Luminosity, Panduh and more were connected to a private Discord server that advocated racist remarks. That Discord server also practiced DDOSing, Doxxing, hacking and ruining the game experience for other players.
It was a massive revelation that many wondered if it would be directly mentioned in Bungie’s next TWAB. Turns out, that answer is yes, it absolutely was.
“Before we talk about the game, we are going to talk about the incredibly important conversation that is taking place online and the events that lead to it. Many courageous women have come forward with stories of harassment and abuse. There has been a lot of pain laid bare in story after story told by these survivors. Some of us have not experienced this pain first-hand and can’t truly understand it. Yet, there are many people in our community feeling empathy, sadness, and anger when confronted with the truly awful harassment and abuse that so many of our friends have had to endure. Sadly, this wasn’t isolated to our corner of the world and has also affected men and non-binary folks as well. In the days that followed the initial revelations, we witnessed more people who have been similarly affected coming forward. This is a bigger issue that the entire gaming industry needs to face. Together, we can take action to make the spaces we share better for everyone. “
This wasn’t the only major thing, Bungie also drastically changed their Code of Conduct rules following the allegations. Changes are fairly lengthy so we won’t get into it here, just click on the supplied link and take a look for yourself. There’s definitely a lot to take in when it comes to Bungie’s response, well worth a read.
We create worlds that inspire friendship. This is our code of conduct. People who join our community are expected to honor it in all of their interactions.
You have our commitment to enforce these standards on every platform and channel we control.

You’ll have to decide for yourself if Bungie is doing enough in regards to the evolving situation. They don’t have direct control over individual players, so we’ll have to wait and see what comes of this.
Iron Banner Returns
For those of you wondering when Season of Arrivals would finally introduce Iron Banner, then you’re in luck! Lord Saladin returns to the Tower and brings along bonus Valor ranks for anyone looking to rank up.
There’s some new stuff to earn and a few reprise weapons as well. The Forward Path and The Fool’s Remedy are returning from Year 1. So if you’re a newcomer or just didn’t play much back in the day, now’s your chance to earn those weapons!
Among the reprised weapons we’re also getting the following weapons added to the Loot Pool: Shining sphere, Swarm of the Raven, Talons of the Eagle, Bite of the Fox, Orewing’s Maul and Crimil’s Dagger. So a hefty helping of weapons to grind out for Iron Banner.
Armor set is a reprised version of the Iron Fellowship set. Honestly, it’s one of our personal favorite sets, so we’re happy to see it return. Especially for our fellow Titans out there!
Bungie also reminds players that Iron Banner did see the removal of SBMM (Skill Based Match Making), so that’s something to look forward to as well. Nice changes all around.

Patches and New Problems
We’re also seeing a roll out of changes and adjustments to fix a lot of known issues within Destiny 2. Several of which were getting quite annoying so we’re happy to see them get fixed. Notably among them are:
- Tommy’s Matchbook Exotic Quest has Been Removed if already Completed
- Blacked out emblems, invisible ships and a power level of 0 glitch.
- The Solo Prophecy Dungeon completion not tracking
There’s a few others as well, but those are the biggest ones to be aware of right now.
They also addressed some known issues that will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
- Freezing when respawning in Gambit
- Tommy’s Matchbook Quest Reappearing in inventory
- Jade Rabbit’s Perk not Activating
- Unable to retrieve the Means to An End Quest
Overall, just a few things to be aware of if you’re experiencing the issues listed above. Hopefully they get fixed soon, because freezing in Gambit is starting to get awfully annoying.
In Summary
So that’s pretty much it as far as news goes for Destiny 2. Definitely a lot of good changes and the acknowledgement of the harassment issues goes a long way. We haven’t seen much in terms of reactions to the Code of Conduct changes, so far anyways.
That being said, if you’re opposed to a change in rules that removes racism, bigotry, harassment etc. Well, maybe it’s time to reevaluate your side of the issue. Us, for one, are glad to see the changes that Bungie is bringing to Destiny 2.
Hopefully the victims of last weekend’s revelation see some justice done. Most of the streamers mentioned in the controversy are seeing bans and account removals. It may not be a permanent fixture, but it’s a step in the right direction.
