“Far Cry 6” Officially Announced After Leak

Ubisoft has officially announced "Far Cry 6" after the game leaked on the Hong Kong Playstation Store. More info will come during the Ubisoft Forward event.

Ubisoft is owning up to a recent leak and officially announced that Far Cry 6 will be shown at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward conference.

The studio posted a video on Twitter of the new antagonist Anton Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito, with a caption that says, “Anton would not be pleased.”

The game originally leaked on the Playstation Store Hong Kong, confirming Giancarlo Esposito as the villain of the game, and saying the release date would be on February 18th, 2021. It also says there will be a free upgrade from the PS4 version to the PS5 one.

According to the listing, the game is set on the island of Yara, described as “the largest Far Cry playground to date” and “a tropical paradise frozen in time.” Anton Castillo is the dictator of the island, with his son, Diego, who is “following in his bloody footsteps” as he tries to rebuild the island to its former glory.

The protagonist will be Dani Rojas, a local Yaran and guerilla soldier fighting for freedom.

We will be sure to hear more about the game when the Ubisoft Forward event on July 11th, this Sunday.
