2 min read

It looks the Call of Duty series is continuing its trend of rebooting its franchises with a reliable source claiming that this year’s entry into the series will be a “soft reboot” of its Black Ops titles, called Black Ops: Cold War.

Twitter user, Okami13_, who has accurately announced previous titles like Warzone and Modern Warfare, shared a photoshopped picture of the first Black Ops game with the words “Cold War” added to it.

According to GamesRadar, this tweet lines up with recent leaks about the upcoming shooter, which is being developed by Treyarch, the company behind the four games in the Black Ops series. This year’s game was originally meant to be developed by Sledgehammer Games, but due to production issues, Treyarch took over development.

This is the time of year where we usually get our first look at the next game in the series, so although these are just rumors that haven’t been confirmed by Activision or Treyarch, we can expect some kind of news in the near future.

Another question being asked by fans is whether or not this title come to the next generation of consoles, the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, which are still due for release this holiday season. We think it’s safe to say that the game will be available on the new batch of consoles.
