Here are our Top 10 best horror games you can play right now:

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

This first-person journey into madness is an absolute onslaught of psychological terror and pure adrenaline. Exploring an abandoned, monster-filled mansion with nothing but a lantern and your wits is an experience unlike any other.

Outlast

For fans of the found-footage-style horror, this game is absolutely for you. Taking you through the deranged world of a worn-down insane asylum, Outlast is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and force you to jump out of it on more than one occasion.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

Before you play through the remake of the third game, be sure to dive into the last remake that took critics by storm. A true revamp of a classic game’s systems brought a whole new level of fear to the experience, leaving gamers both wishing for it to end, and yet wanting more.

F.E.A.R.

Part action, part terrifying journey into terror, F.E.A.R. became an instant classic once it was released. Since then, it hasn’t lost much of its pure terror. A soldier in a paranormal-focused task force, you are put in charge of hunting down a demented rogue experiment and a demonic little girl whose backstory will leave you chilled.

Condemned: Criminal Origins

What really sets this game apart is its blend of both horror, and also forensics work at the scene of a crime. The story of an FBI agent, Ethan Thomas, going down a path of madness to find the person who has framed him for murder. It is an old game, but one that is an absolute gem to play. It is a completely unique experience that is truly only shared by its sequel.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot

And here is that sequel.

A continuation of Ethan Thomas’ story is even grittier, dirtier, and possibly even more terrifying than the first one. Again, placing an emphasis on crime scene investigation, puzzle solving, and melee combat brings a truly special experience to anyone looking to dive into a world of paranoia and fear.

Slender

This game served as more of a tease for what was to come, but there is no denying the pure adrenaline you get from playing it. Wandering around a dark forest, looking for eight pages, all while being chased relentlessly by the Slender Man was a huge hit when it first came out, and it is easy to find right now. It’s easy to jump in and just scare yourself senseless.

Dead by Daylight

This game is a true delight for any horror fans out there. An symmetric multiplayer game, with a group of survivors facing off against a powerful killer, this game has so many costumes and characters from your favorite horror films, such as Freddy Krueger and Michael Myers. The pure rush of trying to accomplish of objectives while hunted by terrifying figures, or the twisted joy you feel as you hunt down the weaker survivors is something that is sure to delight and terrify.

Bioshock

While not necessarily able to be classified as a “horror” game, this masterpiece is filled to the brim with atmosphere, tension, and terror. Navigating an underwater dystopia that has gone wrong is something unlike any other, and the fantastic writing will keep you invested for hours.

P.T.

So, this one is a little harder for you to get your hands on.

A teaser released for a now-cancelled game in the Silent Hills series that is now unavailable to download is only available for those who have already downloaded it to their Playstation 4’s. But it is, without a doubt, the most terrifying experience we have had in a game. Ever. A simple premise of continually walking through a hallway over and over again, gets more terrifying with each loop. If you want to constantly feel like your skin is crawling, then this is the game for you.

Without a doubt, one of these games will give you that adrenaline rush of fear that you are looking for. Or maybe all of them.

So turn off the lights, put on your headphones, and get ready to scream.
