Have you ever wanted to play a game but didn’t want to put to much thought into it? I have found that there are some games other than having Candy Crush on your phone that you can play without thinking too much. The games that I found are not only good for mindless play throughs but are good for keeping you distracted as well. Both games are on the Nintendo Switch, and both are fun in their own ways. The first game is one that came out on March 20, 2020 and was the best thing to play during a pandemic lock down, it’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out as an escape to your own “personal island paradise,” according to Nintendo. The best part about this game is that you can mindlessly play through and just play through it at your own pace, but you can also play with up to 8 other players from wherever else! Connecting with friends while miles apart during a pandemic is fun and all but the mindlessness had me. I have played several hours of just picking fruit, fishing, building things, and even collecting items for the museum.
If that was not your speed and you want something to distract you more but not have you use all the remaining brain power you have, play Pokémon Shield! Released on November 15, 2019, Pokémon Shield can have up to 4 players. This game is great for those old school Pokémon lovers that just want to have something new from the game but know enough to just play through without much thought. The game is great for those cold afternoons that you just want to relax or for a midday pick-me-up. This game also has some high action battles against other Pokémon Trainers and higher-level Pokémon. When you are just walking through you never know what you are going to run into next in the wild, but it is just fun to relax to while not having to thing about anything.
