Nintendo Listing for Skyward Sword Discovered on Switch

Looks like players will finally get to experience one of the best, and most underappreciated, Legend of Zelda games ever made! Released back in 2011 for the Nintendo Wii, a lot of players passed on Skyward Sword due to its reliance on motion controls. Sadly, that also means that they lost out on one of Link’s best outings, but it looks like that might change relatively soon.
This honestly came as a surprise to a lot of people, just because Skyward Sword was all motion control. While the Switch does have gyro controls, which is incredibly similar, it’s not really the reason people bought a Switch. They want to be able to play games anywhere, on the go and with whatever controller scheme that they choose. With that in mind, most players assumed that Skyward Sword was never going to get a remaster or release on the console.
Skyward Sword was going to be seeing a release at some point
Over on Twitter, a user by the name of Wario64 was able to find something that seemed to confirm the impending release. Uncovering a listed release on the Amazon UK site, which would seem to confirm the game’s remaster. Or just a re-release on a newer console, either one is fine.

Since the writing of this article, the page appears to have been taken down by Amazon. So it seems likely that this was not meant to be seen yet and was being held for a future reveal.
Nintendo actually teased that Skyward Sword was going to be seeing a release at some point in the near future. Series Producer Eiji Aonuma said that remaking Skyward Sword as an HD remaster was completely possible. Apparently they already had an idea in place for the game.
This would also mark Skyward Sword as one of the many Zelda titles to receive an HD remake. Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask received remasters on the Nintendo 3DS. Link’s Awakening returned as a remake to the Switch. Twilight Princess and Wind Waker got a remaster on the Wii-U back in the day as well.
Speaking of which, hey Nintendo, would you mind remastering Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Switch? Please, pretty please? Because that game was so good and we would love to be able to go back and replay it anywhere.
