It’s been a couple of weeks since Cyberpunk 2077 had its next-gen update released, and while many players are jumping back in just to see the changes brought to the massive RPG from CD Projekt Red, others have dedicated their time to uncovering what secrets the developers hid in the massive new update.
One such possiblity is an odd new quest that may have been uncovered by Makavelinow on Reddit. Now, this isn’t an official discovery as the entire situation is very different from other quests but it is an interesting interaction nonetheless.
Makavelinow found an NPC, crying, on a dock. The NPC appears to have much more modeling and detailing done than the other non-important NPC’s in the game. When approached, the NPC doesn’t do anything. Once you search the area, you can surmise that they are crying after dropping something into the water. Hop in and you will find a key, which you can bring back to the NPC, return it, which will prompt them to thank you and pull out the phone. If you zoom in on the phone screen, you will see a bunch of code.
That’s it; and while the code could literally be anything – or nothing – it certainly seems to be too weird of an encounter to not be something to keep an eye on. You can be sure that players will continue exploring and trying to figure out just what the point of this random encounter is and if that code plays a role in something else. There is still plenty to uncover in Cyberpunk 2077‘s 1.5 update.
