Mass Effect: Shepard’s Return Possibly Leaked

2 min read

While we have no idea when the next entry in the Mass Effect series is going to be coming out, it looks like we may have just had the return of Commander Shepard leaked.

The leak came through a listing for a poster for the game on the Bioware store that was quickly taken down. However, the synopsis was still noticed by YouTube user, MrHulthen. The synopsis said:

“The show goes on. Shepard’s final quest may have ended the threat of the Reapers but at great cost including Earth itself. While Shepard and the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.”

This was very quickly taken down and replaced with a much more vague synopsis:

“The threat of the Reapers might have been ended, but at great cost including Earth itself. While the survivors are left to pick up the pieces, fans are left wondering what’s next.”

Now, it is possible that this original synopsis just had the wrong information, but given how fast they took it down, we believe that the information was correct. Of course, we have no idea how Commander Shepard could play into the game’s story, but it seems like there is a good chance that the character will be coming back.

Commander Shepard was the main character for the original trilogy, a military member who went against the Reapers to try to save the galaxy and all the species in it. The thing is: out of the eight endings to Mass Effect 3, only one of them saw Commander Shepard actually survive the final battle.

So should Shepard be returning, it could be that that one ending will be the canonical ending for the series. Or, Shepard could just be resurrected, as was the case at the beginning of Mass Effect 2.
