Pokemon Legends: Arceus isn’t the only big release for the popular series this year as the Pokemon Company has announced the release of the new generation in the main series of games: Violet and Scarlet. These two new games will be coming our way later this year on Nintendo Switch.
The news came during the Pokemon Day 2022’s livestream on February 27th, with news that the games would feature a brand new region and announcing the three Gen 9 starters: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. According to the announcement, Sprigatito is a grass cat who features a “capricious” and “attention-seeking” personality, along with the Overgrow ability. Fuecoco is a fire croc, coming with the Blaze ability and is “laid-back” and “does things at its own pace.” Finally, Quaxly is a water duck with the Torrent ability, and is “earnest and tidy.”
Each generation of Pokemon games comes with some small differences, mainly the legendary Pokemon available to you in each one as seen on the covers. However, this generation is also promising to feature different outfits for the players depending on which version you are playing.
The generation as a whole is also serving to push the series forward, with the game being labeled as “evolutionary”, featuring a blend of towns and the wild where you can see the titular creatures wandering about, on their own. The Pokemon Company says that players will be able to see Pokemon everywhere – in the sky, on the ground, in the water. This seems to be in a similar vein to Arceus, which had Pokemon wandering around in the wild for you to interact with.
Those are all the details we have on the games now and there has been no official release date besides “late 2022.” Once more information releases, you can be sure we will report on it here at BuzzHash.
